Comet C/2011 L4 (PanSTARRS)
Comet C/2011 L4 (PanSTARRS) became widely visible in 2013, delighting observers as it approached its perihelion and put on a bright display in the western evening sky. This comet, discovered in 2011 by the Pan-STARRS survey, developed a striking greenish coma and a faint, extended tail as sunlight excited the gases in its coma.
I imaged this comet from my backyard.
The image processing was carried out using Fitswork, Photoshop, and PixInsight.
