Messier 3 from my own „Sterntaucher“ observatory
My next project in 2019 was the globular cluster Messier 3 in the constellation Canes Venatici.
Here is an overview of the used equipment and the exposure times:
Equipment | Telescope 1 |
Location and date | Krefeld, 19. and 20. April 2019 |
Telescope/Lense | 10″ Newton ohne Namen |
Focal length [mm] | 1000 |
Focal ratio | 3.9 |
Mount | Skywatcher EQ8 |
Camera | Moravian G3 16200 FW |
Autoguiding | DMK21 AU04 on TSQ-65ED |
Filter | L |
Exposure time [min] | 120 |
Resolution | 1.23″/px |
Data calibration and registration and the final processing was done with PixInsight. The RGB Data was taken from an old session of 2010 and upscaled to the luminance data. The result was as follows:
The faintest star in my image has an apparent magnitude of 19.6 magG (SDSS DR15).
The two highest redshift quasars [Flesh 2015] in the image are:
VPM J13411+28.39 z=1.57 magG=18.1
SDSS J134150.74+283207.9 z=1.38 magG=19.1 (Gaia DR2)
