Jones Emberson 1 from my own „Sterntaucher“ observatory
My first project in 2019 was the planetary nebula Jones Emberson 1, located in the constellation Lynx.
Here is an overview of the used equipment and the exposure times:
Equipment | Telescope 1 | Telescope 2 |
Location and date | Krefeld, March 2019 | Krefeld, March 2019 |
Telescope/Lense | 10″ Newton ohne Namen | TSQ-65ED Apo |
Focal length [mm] | 1000 | 420 |
Focal ratio | 3.9 | 6.5 |
Mount | Skywatcher EQ8 | Skywatcher EQ8 |
Camera | Moravian G2 8300 FW | QSI 583ws |
Autoguiding | DMK21 AU04 on TSQ-65ED | DMK21 AU04 on TSQ-65ED |
Filter | L, Hα+[NII], [OIII] | R, G, B |
Exposure time [min] | 100, 370, 425 | 180, 190, 170 |
Resolution | 1.11″/px | 2.63″/px |
Data calibration and registration and the final processing was done with PixInsight. The RGB Data was upscaled to the luminance data. Hα+[NII] was assigned to the red channel and OIII to the green and blue channel. The result was as follows:
Jones Emberson 1
The faintest star in my image has an apparent magnitude of 20.4 magG (DSSR 15).
The two highest redshift quasars [Flesh 2015] in the image are:
SDSS J075910.78+533132.4 z=1.13 magG=18.0 (Gaia DR2)
SDSS J075832.61+533058.8 z=0.58 magG=18.7 (Gaia DR2)
Jones Emberson 1 from DSW observatory
Coincidentally, the same object was imaged by the DSW observatory in the same year. The following equipment was used for this:
Location | Rowe, New Mexico |
Telescope | Takahashi FSQ-106 |
Focal length [mm] | 530 |
Focal ratio | 5 |
Mount | Paramount MyT |
Filter | Hα+[NII]:[OIII]:R:G:B |
Exposure time [min] | 600:900:435:375:390 |
Resolution | 2,08″/px |
Data calibration and registration and the final processing was done with PixInsight. Hα+[NII] was assigned to the red channel and OIII to the green and blue channel. The result was as follows:
Jones Emberson 1 (DSW)
The faintest star in the DSW image has an apparent magnitude of 22.0 magG (DSSR 15).
The two highest redshift quasars [Flesh 2015] in the image are:
SDSS J075826.29 +524009.1 z=3.25 magG=20.3 (Gaia DR2)
SDSS J075442.82 +532956.8 z=3.09 magG=20.2 (Gaia DR2)
