BARNARD 150 (SEAHORSE NEBULA)
From time to time, I acquire data sets from remote observatories around the world. One of my favorite providers is Telescope Live, which operates telescopes in Chile, Australia, and Spain.
Among the data I received was a beautiful set featuring the dark nebula Barnard 150, located in the constellation Cepheus. Also known as the “Seahorse Nebula” due to its distinctive shape, this dense cloud of interstellar dust obscures the rich background star field of the Milky Way, creating a dramatic silhouette. The surrounding region glows with subtle golden and bluish tones, the result of starlight scattered by interstellar dust and gas.
Data calibration, registration, and final image processing were all performed in PixInsight.
